Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Teledyne Controls is seeking a seasoned Senior Certification Design Engineer to secure and sustain FAA certification for Teledyne products in all targeted aircraft types.  

 

Essential duties:

  • Prepares engineering drawings, reports, correspondence, and data to be used for FAA certification of new and existing STCs.
  • Coordinates FAA approvals of PMA, STC, major/minor design changes.  
  • Participates in preliminary design review (PDR) and critical design review (CDR) as necessary to express certification requirements.
  • Interface with teammates early in the development stage to mitigate risks prior to qualification testing.
  • Interface with company technicians and outside vendors/suppliers to develop product design specification and optimize production process.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferable Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • At least a minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in avionics installations, field service, or customer support in an Avionics, Aircraft, and/or Aerospace Defense environment.  
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe Acrobat
  • Proficient in AutoCAD drafting is required.
  • Requires working knowledge of OEM aircraft manuals.
  • Working experience in STC certification.
  • Working experience with generation of regulatory applications, certification plans, Conformity Requests.
  • Understanding of Quality requirements for Parts and Aircraft Inspections as well as parts manufacturer approval (PMA).
  • Experience working in production liaison engineering (aerospace), aircraft reciprocating engineers, aircraft certification flight testing, instrumentation, data acquisition.
  • Previous employment in an engineering field (commercial, military, or defense engineering) is strongly preferred.
