Position Summary and Responsibilities:

 

Scope of Position

The Director of Human Resources is a hands-on position, responsible for, but not limited to, the overall human resources and training department staff and functions, including the day-to-day operations of the hiring, staffing, coordination of health and benefits and welfare related issues, employee relations, learning and development, training, FAA/DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Program and OFFCP Compliant and Administration.

Organizational Structure:

The Director of Human Resources reports directly to the Corporate Vice-President of Human Resources with a dotted line to the President of Teledyne Controls.

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities.

  • Works with Company President to improve organizational structure, programs and activities that supports and ensures the integrity of the organization
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal, state and local employment requirements. Coordinates with appropriate parties to ensure international employment requirements are being met
  • Implements quality recruitment and selection programs that attract quality, enthusiastic, and well-qualified employees
  • Develops, orientates, and trains new employees to ensure successful onboarding’s of new hires
  • Designs career development/succession programs for employees and HR team members.
  • Designs and executes evaluation and recognition programs
  • Maintains and oversees company and corporate metrics and reporting
  • Manages employee relations matters including conducting investigations and making recommendations for effective resolution including disciplinary action where applicable
  • Drives the annual review and succession planning cycle for all managers
  • Works with management team to establish and implement training programs to meet compliance and employee development needs
  • Approves and manages leave of absences including PDL, FMLA/CFRA, PFL, etc…
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action plans as well as all EEO/OFCCP requirements
  • FAA/DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Program Manager
  • Oversees company administrative support
  • May work with other Teledyne companies on special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 

 

  • A minimum of 12+ years in Human Resources management. Preferably in Avionics or Government Contractor Environment
  • A minimum of 7 years in managing a high volume site with diverse group of employees as well as levels of position. From manufacturing, engineering to senior staff
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Proven ability to develop and mentor subordinates
  • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office, ATS and HRIS. Experience in ADP EV5 and/or iCIMS preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High-level problem solver
  • Able to effectively interact with all members of staff
  • Exchange ideas, information and opinions with others to formulate programs and arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions and solutions
  • Possess a high degree of flexibility
  • Proficient in facilitating Learning and Development Initiatives
  • Experience in working for an OFCCP regulated environment
  • Good working knowledge of employment laws and the ability to interpret them

 

 

Some domestic travel required.  Fluency in Spanish a plus.
